Eco Canada

Eco (Environmental Careers Organization) Canada is a non-profit agency, established by the federal government, that helps to define and identify strategies to attain employment in environmental fields. Geographers are uniquely positioned among university graduates to attain jobs in many different environmental fields, from environmental education to climatology to planning.

Recent BA and BSc graduates may be eligible to attain certification through Eco Canada, which would allow them to work towards their Environmental Practitioner designation. While a relatively young process, the aim of this program is to provide certainty to employers that future certified employees have sufficient training for the challenges that lie ahead.

Eco Canada also maintains a job board and posts volunteer opportunities. They also resources on what students and practitioners can take to match industry needs.
