NEW PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS |
|
The history program has undergone program revisions that will take effect in the 2009/2010 academic year. Students who have already declared their major, extended minor, or minor may choose whether they wish to meet the old requirements or the new requirements. Students who are still early in their program may wish to meet the new requirements which offer greater course choice flexibility. Students who declare in the 2009/2010 academic year will be expected to meet the new program requirements. |

HISTORY EXTENDED MINOR REQUIREMENTS-BEGINNING 2009/2010 |
|
|
Lower-level requirements: 18 credits |
|
|
Three 100- or 200 level credits in each of the following four breadth areas: |

Canada: one of HIST 101, 102, 103, 105, 220, 226
-
United States/Latin America: one of HIST 241, 242, 243, 261, 262
-
Europe: one of HIST 108, 109, 110, 208, 209, 210
-
Asia/Middle East: one of HIST 115, 235, 236, 264, 265 |
|
An additional six 100- or 200-level history credits. |
|
|
Note: Students may count three credits from THEA 201 or THEA 202 towards their history major or extended minor requirements. |

|
Upper-level requirements: 16 credits |
|

Four 300-level history credits

Four 400-level history credits
-
Eight 300- or 400-level history credits |
|
Note 1: No more than four credits may be in Directed Studies courses.
Note 2: Students may count EDUC 323 toward the history major, extended minor or minor requirements. |

|
| Lower-level requirements: 18 credits |
|
- Eighteen credits of 100-200-level history.
|
| Note: many upper-level courses require specific lover-level course prerequisites. |
|
|
| Upper-level requirements: 16 credits |
|
|
Sixteen credits in 300- and 400-level History as follows: |
|
- four credits at the 300-level
- four credits at the 400-level
- eight credits at the 300- or 400-level
|
Note: No more than four credits may be in Directed Studies courses.
