EMPLOYMENT EQUITY COMPLIANCE REVIEW
Compliance reviews are an integral part of an Employment Equity Program. Since the inception of this program, UFV has periodically requested every faculty and staff members complete an employment equity survey. The survey asks employees to identify whether or not they belong to one or more designated groups, using criteria the federal government has established. Completion of this survey us voluntary, though all employees are required to return the survey, and the results are kept confidential. The survey results also assist UFV in developing employment equity initiatives that compliment the Employment Equity Program.

EMPLOYEE TUITION WAIVER PROGRAM

The Employee Tuition Waiver program offers UFV Employees a tuition waiver that allows the following:
  • Employees to enrol in any one University credit course per semester without payment of course fee
  • Employees to enrol in one additional University credit course per semester without payment of course fees, provided no fee-paying student is displaced
  • Spouses of UFV employees to enrol in any one University Credit course per semester without payment of the course fee, provided no fee-paying student is displaced
  • Dependents of employees to enrol in up to five University credit courses per semester without payment of the course fees, provided no fee-paying student is displaced
SPOUSES AND DEPENDENTS

The waiver does not include ancillary fees, Student Union Society fee, the Cascade Newspaper fee or the application for admission fee.

Trades Programs: May be eligible to receive a tuition waiver for a trades program, provided there are empty seats in the program on day one (in some cases day two). If there are names on the wait-list, those names must be called until all fee-paying applicants have been offered the seat(s). The decision to approve the waiver will be made on the first or second day of class, and will be approved by the Director of Trades & Technology.

Spouses and dependents who  wish to take the program regardless of the tuition waiver, should register into the program with the $200.00 deposit as all other students do. Should there be less than a full class and no wait-list, the waiver will be approved and the deposit will be refunded.

NOTE: The waiver does not include any refund penalties if employees, spouses, or dependents withdraw from courses.
