Student mobility programs
Please encourage your students to internationalize their educational experience. One of the ways that they can do this is to study or work abroad. You can refer students to UFV International's Study Abroad website or encourage them to contact Sarah Nermo, the International Programs Assistant, to obtain further information about potential international options. A great opportunity for UFV students to study abroad is available through Human Resources and Skills Development Canada’s (HRSDC) International Academic Mobility (IAM) Initiative. This program provides funding for up to four years for Canadian students to exchange with European students under the Canada-European Community Program for Cooperation in Higher Education and Training, as well as providing the opportunity for exchanges with U.S. and Mexican students under the Program for North American Mobility in Higher Education. UFV has participated in the Canada-European program in the recent past. Most recently, UFV has successfully applied to the Canada-European program to be funded for the Diaspora Studies Consortium student mobility program in conjunction with York University, Northampton University (UK) and Muenster University (Germany). If you have ideas for student mobility projects under these programs, please check the HRSDC website and contact John Potts at UFV International. For information on international internship opportunities check with the Global Development Institute. |
