Welcome to UFV Assessment Services

The Assessment Services Centre provides a number of assessment services to UFV students and the communities it serves. Descriptions of each of these services can be found by clicking on the links below or using the menu on the right.

UFV Placement Tests
Many courses and programs at UFV require students to demonstrate certain levels of competency in specific academic areas. Placement tests help determine skill levels and aid in the selection of appropriate courses.

Invigilation Services
The Assessment Centre is available for UFV students and for individuals or groups wishing to write supervised exams in our testing facility. UFV is also a test site for exams such as the GED and Fraser Valley Distance Education School exams.

UFV Assessment Services Abbotsford campus offers two exam blocks Monday to Friday: a morning block and an afternoon block.

Morning Exam Block: 9:00 am to 12:00 noon

  • The morning block starts at 9:00 AM and runs until 12:00 noon.
  • The door is locked at 9:00 AM, so students must arrive no later than 8:50 am to check in.

Afternoon Exam Block: 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm

  • The afternoon block runs from 1:00 – 4:00 PM.
  • The door is locked at 1:05 PM, so students must arrive no later than 12:50 pm to check in.

Everyone scheduled for an exam block must be in the testing room when the door is locked.

Assessment Services has set times for its exams to limit disruptions. Students must start at the designated time, even if the exam is only 90 minutes long. Students will not be allowed to start at different times; however, they will be allowed to leave when finished.

Assessment Services also provides invigilation services in CHILLIWACK (Thursdays) and MISSION (Wednesdays), depending on staff availability.

Please fill out the online booking form to book an appointment to write an exam at any UFV location.

*Note to Faculty: the Testing room door is locked to prevent disruptions to the students writing exams. If you come to drop off an exam and the door is locked, please slide your exam, in an envelope, under the door. We are in the office and will retrieve it right away.
