Guidelines for UFV students, faculty,
and staff travelling abroad

UFV International is an excellent source of information regarding international travel planning and protocols in working with universities abroad. Central to all planning for international travel must be the consideration of the health, safety, and security of students, staff, and faculty.

The guidelines and procedures developed by UFV are designed to facilitate international travel while ensuring the welfare of participants. For more detailed information concerning travel documents, finance, and health insurance, please refer to the Study Abroad Handbook.

Education abroad activities may include but are not limited to:

  • study abroad for credit courses including field schools and study tours
  • all offshore instructionally-related activities
  • professional and research activities (including grants and contracts)

Travel abroad also includes activities such as attending or presenting at conferences, participating in tours, and conducting research funded, all or in part, by the university.
