Apply to UFV International in 7 easy steps

step_one

Apply early to get the best selection. Seats in many programs are limited.  Review application deadlines to give yourself plenty of time. Applications that remain incomplete by the deadline may have to be deferred to the next semester.

step_two

Download the undergraduate student application form as a Word document or as a PDF (Master students, download the graduate application here.) Print neatly in block letters to help us process your application faster and without errors.
Applications can be sent to:

step_three

Include the following with your application:

  • A non-refundable fee of $150 CAD.
  • Official high school transcripts. If your transcripts are in a language other than English, you also need to provide a certified English translation. If you have completed university or college credits in your country, contact us at international@ufv.ca to find out how get a transfer credit evaluation.
  • One passport-size photograph.
  • Your English proficiency test results (TOEFL, IELTS, LPI) if you’re applying for any program other than ESL. To get your TOEFL iBT score sent automatically to UFV use code 9736 when you take the test.
  • A 100- to 200-word essay explaining why you want to study at UFV.

step_four

Review requirements. Ensure that you meet all university and program admission requirements and that you’ve included all of the required documents in your application.

Note that missing documents may delay your UFV admission: without official transcripts and proof of English proficiency, you cannot be accepted to an academic program.

step_five

Wait for your Preliminary Letter of Acceptance, which should arrive approximately two weeks after we receive your completed application and all required documents. Any missing information or documents will delay your letter. The letter will outline the steps you need to take to receive your Official Letter of Acceptance.

step_six

Pay your fees in full, as detailed in your Preliminary Letter of Acceptance to secure your seat at UFV and proceed with course registration. View more information about fees and tuition.

step_seven

Apply for your student permit. When you receive your Official Letter of Acceptance, take it with a valid passport and proof of sufficient funds for your stay in Canada to the nearest Canadian embassy or consulate in your country. Check the Citizenship and Immigration Canada website for locations. Be sure to review and fulfill the study permit requirements.

Allow at least 4 to 12 weeks for processing. Processing may be faster for Indian and Chinese students who apply and meet the requirements under the Student Partners Program.
