The following malicious email has been received by a number of UFV email users.  While this message is not explicitly asking recipients to provide their account details, they are requested to click on a link to a suspicious destination.  Steps have been taken to automate the removal of these messages from UFV inboxes.

Please be advised that the following malicious email message has been received by a large number of UFV email users.  This message asks recipients to provide account credentials.  Steps have been taken to automate the removal of these messages from UFV inboxes.  If you receive this message or similar messages, please delete them.

IT Services will never ask you to divulge your login credentials or complete a form via email.  All such requests are illegitimate and should be ignored or deleted.

Influx of Spam Messages

Some UFV email users have been experiencing an influx of spam messages.  IT Services is working to resolve this issue.  What to do:  Typically, spam messages can be identified by non-work-related words in the subject field, and often contain numerous hyperlinks.  Please do not open suspected spam email, but delete it immediately.  If the email is already opened, do not click on any of the offered links; simply close the email and delete it.

Banner ADMN Unavailable; Banner PROD now available

Banner ADMN will not be available for Tuesday September 11th. The data backup processes took longer than expected, and the ADMN refresh did not complete successfully.

ADMN will be recreated and restarted during the regular overnight process and will be available Wednesday morning.

Telephone System Problem

We are experiencing intermittent telephone service issues.  Users will see "Out of Service" when dialing some locals and/or voicemail.  IT Services is currently working on the issue.

Telephone Service Issues

Some areas on Abbotsford campus are experiencing intermittent problems with telephone service.   At time dial tone is unavailable.  UFV IT Services is working with the system vendor to resolve the issue.  A notice will be posted as soon as normal service is restored.

Full service has been restored.  A system technician remains on site temporarily to monitor the system.  If you are still experiencing telephone issues, please contact Chris Carter at 604-864-4600 (local 4600 on campus) or at chris,carter@ufv.ca as soon as possible.
