Accessing network files while on campus
R: drive Student's own personal 200 Mb storage space
P: drive Student public storage space where all students can add, modify and delete files
Q: drive Used by instructors to distribute course files to students. Faculty can add, modify or delete files on Q: drive. Students can only read and save the data that is stored on the Q: drive Accessing student network files remotely (through myUFV or NetStorage)
myUFV
Go to myUFV at http://my.ufv.ca and use your username is your 9-digit UFV student number
NetStorage
- Access your network files directly through the Internet by going to https://gw.ufv.ca/NetStorage/ and entering your computer username and password
- Once in NetStorage your screen displays your personal network drive HOME@UFV (P: drive in the labs) and the instructor network drive DRIVEQ
- To access and manage your UFV network files from Windows Explorer (it allows more files to be viewed on your screen at one time) choose Access UFV Files Remotely using WebDAV
Working with files remotely
- To select a file, click in the box to the left of a file (a check mark will appear in the box)
- Choose to either open (view the file), download a file (save a file from the network it to your computer), or to upload a file (copy a file from your computer to the network)
- If you choose more than one file to work with at a time, NetStorage will compress the files into one zipped file
