- Most of our databases are on the Internet. If you are looking for older articles, a librarian might help you use one of our older Print format article indexes. For example, Canadian Periodical Index goes back to the 1920's.

| What information will the research database give me? | - Research databases provide a citation to the article, such as author, title of article, journal article and date. See Understanding Citations (Duke University)
- Some databases provide a descriptive summary or abstract of the article
- Some databases also provide the entire article, called the full text. This may be in either HTML or PDF format.

| How can I locate a print periodical in the UFV Library? | - At UFV, print journals and magazines, known as periodicals, are shelved in a separate section of the library. Look for the sign "Magazines / Journals" over the shelves. The periodicals are arranged alphabetically (A-Z) by the title, starting with titles such as "Advertising Age" and ending with "Visual Merchandising".
