Who

• Students enrolled in full and part-time studies are entitled to a campus card, which acts as a combination student card, library card, computer printing, and photocopier card.
• Continuing Education students are issued a free (paper) library card for the duration of their course.

Where to get card

• In general, cards are issued outside the library for the first few weeks of term, and then within the library for the rest of the semester.
• Bring Photo ID
• UFV Online students who are UNABLE to come to campus may request a library card and PIN using this online form .

Borrowing

• No limit on number of loans from UFV library
• May borrow all types of circulating materials (books from Stacks, periodicals, videos/DVD's, course reserves, language CD's, etc)
• May place on-line holds and intercampus transfers (exception: no holds on course reserves)
• Free interlibrary loans. Limit of 100 per year.

Expiry Date of privileges

• At end of semester
• CE Students - at end of course

Loan Periods and Fines

• Books - 3 week initial loan period. Renewals subject to recall.  $.25/day overdue fine. $1.00/day recall fine.
• Periodicals - 7 day loan.  $1.00 day/overdue fine
• Videos/DVD's - 7 day loan. $1.00 day/overdue fine
• Course Reserves - 2 hr - 7 day. $1.00/hr - $1.00/day

Database Access

• Full access to licensed databases from off campus during semesters registered in courses.
• CE students may access databases from on campus

• Faculty may request interlibrary loans for course preparation and research.  Staff requiring interlibrary loans for personal use are required to pay (usually $10.00 per item).

• CTC students and teachers
• Heritage Park students and teachers
• Kwantlen, SFU, and Douglas College students ( South Fraser Libraries Reciprocal Agreement )
• COPPUL members (eg. UBC, UNBC, UVIC, Trinity Western, etc)
