Workshops for developing courses in BlackBoard
The Teaching and Learning Centre has scheduled workshops for instructors preparing to teach using BlackBoard for fully online or supplemental courses.
Mastering the Fundamentals of Blackboard (our course management software)
This workshop introduces you to the interface and tools of Blackboard. After working in My Blackboard and Mail, we will explore the Build, Teach, and Student View tabs, and the common tools of the softward. You will begin to design a course in Blackboard.
Through hands-on activities, you will customize your course by adding and editing headers, and creating and adding simple components. A brief overview of media options in the online environment will also be provided.

This workshop is for those developing or teaching either full online or supplemental coures in Balckboard. Participants will practice on thier own course shell. We will discuss design issues for online courses, including course tools, and migration issues. We will cover communicating with students, assignments and assessment tools, including quizzes and the Grade Book.

How to enrol: If you have a BlackBoard instructor account, log into My Blackboard, go into the Online Faculty Centre and choose the icon "January Workshops" on the home page. Choose the day you want to attend, and click Sign Up. If you do not have access to My Blackboard, send me an email and I will register you for the workshop of your choice. wendy.burton@ufv.ca
