Every new program draws on the resources of the library, and a proposal must include an analysis, done by the library faculty, of the capacity of the library to support the faculty and students. Once the curriculum has been determined, and the learning outcomes established, send a copy of the draft curriculum to the University Librarian, and request an analysis of the collection. The University Librarian will determine which liaison librarian is most appropriate, and the analysis will be done. The more information you can give the library faculty, the better. The analysis must be attached to the full proposal as an appendix before it is submitted to any approval body. If additional library resources are required for a program, you will need to work with the PWG and the liaison librarian to figure out what kind of budget will be needed to support the program. A sample library analysis is included below.
