Shipping of Items Between Campuses:
If shipping items between departments / campuses, please email Bob.Peters@ufv.ca. For both courier requests or furniture moves, please include the details of the request as follows:
» Your phone local where you can be reached, if necessary.
» What needs to be moved?
» Where is the item to be picked up from?
» Where is it to be delivered to?
» When will it be ready, and when does it need to be there.
» Contact name at the receiving end, if available or necessary.
» Please insure that the item(s) to be moved are identified with a tag or label.
Hand Delivery Envelopes:
When you have important documents to be transported between campuses that you are not comfortable putting in the intercampus mail, you can have them hand delivered. Please make sure that the envelope is identified with a bright "post-it" note indicating "hand delivery". Leave HD envelopes next to the intercampus mail tub pick up area or in the courier note tray if you have one in your department.
Hand delivery is not any quicker (perhaps slower), but is more traceable. UFV's internal service is very quick and efficient, please use hand delivery only for important irreplaceable documents, fragile items, or cash.
Items Shipped Via Contracted Couriers:
For any air shipments from anywhere in Canada, or small packages / envelopes by ground from anywhere in Canada, please ask the shipper to use Purolator if UFV is to pay the costs.
Large or heavy freight should be shipped via a freight company. Shipping and Receiving will be able to advise the best method for your shipment if you contact them with the details.
If the supplier is paying the freight, let them choose the carrier, as they may get a discount with another courier company. Have the items addressed to:
University of the Fraser Valley
33844 King Road
Abbotsford, BC V2S 7M8
Phone (604) 854-4552
Please ask the shipper to include the UFV order number, contact name, or destination on the outside of the package. Shipping will record the receipt of the item and forward it to the end destination.
Shipping Items Out of Region:
All UFV items to be shipped via contracted couriers should go through shipping and receiving. Contracted / outside couriers will not pick up from or deliver to your office.
Items to be shipped must be accompanied by a shipping requisition form. These forms can be obtained from most reception areas within UFV. Information provided on the requisition is very important to ensure successful delivery. Please ensure that it is filled out as completely as possible; include your name, local, and budget code.
If the item is other than a document, and is to be shipped internationally, a commercial invoice for customs clearance is required and should be attached to the shipping requisition. If the parcel is to be shipped via Canada Post and valued under a thousand dollars, a post office declaration is sufficient. Keep the bottom copy of the shipping requisition for your records.
