MicroLecture Series at UFV
Next MicroLecture Series Student MicroLectures
Wednesday March 20, 11:30
Road Runner Lounge
The MicroLecture series at UFV is an opportunity for faculty and students to share their research with the university and regional community in a fast and user-friendly way. Faculty members and students involved in any form of research have the opportunity to disseminate the highlights of their findings, one after the other, to the masses in busy, public places on campus.
Each researcher takes the stage for a maximum of two minutes and speaks about the exciting findings and implications of their research. The event is widely promoted across campus and into our local communities and provides a networking opportunity for those interested. What it looks like: A small riser and microphone/speakers will be set up in the Road Runner Lounge. Researchers take the stage one after the other for a maximum of two minutes, give their name, and speak about the exciting findings and implications of their research. The event will last about an hour. Discussion and networking are encouraged afterwards (e.g., if someone is inspired, they would approach you afterwards to discuss further). The event is widely promoted across campus and into our local communities.
What it is not: The micro lecture series is not an opportunity for faculty to introduce themselves or their department to the audience. Rather, it is an opportunity for those in attendance to get a variety of “snapshots” of the exciting research being conducted at UFV.

We’re looking for 20 or more presenters to be a part of the continued success of the UFV MicroLecture event, which will take place on the Abbotsford Campus in the Road Runner Lounge on Wednesday November 14 from 11:30 – 12:30. You’ll be amongst your peers at universities around the world who make their research accessible through this process. What it looks like: A small riser and microphone/speakers will be set up in the Road Runner Lounge. Researchers take the stage one after the other for a maximum of two minutes, give their name, and speak about the exciting findings and implications of their research.
