Digging into Data Challenge – an international research funding opportunity
SSHRC is pleased to announce the launch of the third Digging into Data Challenge competition designed to spur computationally intensive research in the humanities and social sciences (http://www.sshrc-crsh.gc.ca/news_room-salle_de_presse/press_releases-communiques/2013/data-donnees_numeriques-eng.aspx?).
Each project is an international partnership among two to four national teams, from at least two of the four participating countries (Canada, the Netherland, the US, and the UK). When a project is selected for funding, each of the teams will receive a grant from their respective country. For Canadian teams, the maximum award amount (over two years) will range from:
• up to $125,000 for projects requesting funds from SSHRC only; or
• for multidisciplinary teams requesting funds from SSHRC and NSERC, a maximum of $125,000 from each agency can be requested. Note: each agency will only fund research in accordance with its respective mandate).
• CFI is also making funds of $500,000 available for Canadian teams towards specific infrastructure needed to enable the Canadian research team(s) to achieve their research objectives.
Final applications will be due May 15, 2013.
