Safety & Security Services and Intercon/ADT Advanced Integration are pleased to introduce the Intercon Operations Centre (IOC).  The IOC will monitor all emergency and non-emergency telephone calls for the University of the Fraser Valley - 24 hours / 365 days a year.  

The IOC will provide a “911” service delivery model by taking calls for assistance and dispatching them to either Intercon On-site Security personnel, an Intercon mobile patrol car, and/or UFV Safety & Security staff.  This is a service that will be available to all UFV employees and students.

The IOC will enhance the existing security services by providing a better accessible approach to security resources and services at all UFV campuses (with the exception of the Aerospace Centre).

The current contact numbers for Security (Local 5050, 5051, 5052, 5053, & 5054) and for First Aid (Local 4400 & 2525) will no longer be in service effective Monday October 12th, 2011.  For all emergencies, dial Local 7770; for any non-urgent (routine) requests, dial Local 7654.  We encourage employees to familiarize themselves with these two numbers and utilize them accordingly.

These contact numbers are also accessible from outside the university telephone network by dialling direct from a landline or mobile phone.  For emergencies dial 1-855-282-7770; and for non-emergencies dial 1-855-239-7654.           

Signs are currently being installed around campus to reflect these contact number changes which come into effect on Tuesday September 6th, 2011.

Security Contact Numbers:

For all urgent security requests that require an immediate response such as First Aid, Security Emergencies, Fire and Threats, dial Local 7770

For routine security requests such as building, office, or classroom access, door unlocks, security escorts or SafeWalks dial Local 7654

The security officer is often in areas where there may be a weak cellular signal or busy with another caller. If you are asked to leave a message, please do so and be clear (speak slowly) when leaving your name and return contact information. 

UFV campus security officers in Abbotsford, Chilliwack, and Mission are equipped with special two-way radios that enable them to communicate directly with the operations centre. Pagers are also provided as a back-up.
