So what exactly is New Student Orientation?
Excited, nervous, apprehensive…these are only some of the emotions you may be experiencing as you prepare for your education at University of the Fraser Valley (UFV). Don’t worry! We are here to help make this transition as smooth as possible.
UFV’s New Student Orientation (NSO) is your opportunity to connect with fellow students, meet staff and faculty, and get to know your new campus in a fun, informative way! Whether you are a high school, transfer for mature student NSO is a great way to find out about the many resources offered to you at UFV.
Ultimately, we just want to ensure you enjoy your time at UFV to the fullest!

Why should I attend New Student Orientation?
This event is your opportunity to… • hear from many UFV staff and faculty about the abundant courses and services available to you. • get a tour of the campus from one of our knowledgeable Student Life Ambassadors (your fellow students). • ask any questions you may have, no matter how big or small. • connect with other students and make some new friends! • get involved in student clubs and associations, among other activities on campus • enjoy free food! • win prizes…
What else do I need to know?
This year, new students will have a chance to participate and connect with peers who have the same major or career path. Networking is essential! You will be assigned to different colored teams and take part in a mass trivia game at the end of the day!
Note the list of colors and areas of study below – please wear your color on the day of the event: Are you able to do ‘drop down’ boxes for the programs that are not bolded and just have the bolded program appear. Let me know if you have questions/need further details about this.

Prizes will be given away to those wearing the colors – make sure your color is visible and be creative. Email orientation@ufv.ca if you are not sure which color group you are apart of.
