Student Association of Social Work (SWSA)
The Student Association of Social Work (SWSA) is a student organization that strives to support, represent, and advocate for students in the Bachelor of Social Work degree program. SWSA provides a forum for students to voice concerns, make suggestions, and socialize with peers.
SWSA acts as an important communication link with the School and faculty, and ensures that students’ voices are represented on the BSW Advisory Committee, faculty selection advisory committees, BSW admissions interviews, and curriculum evaluation committees.
The SWSA has also taken a major role in planning events to enrich the UFV community. One example is the End Racism Day multicultural celebration held in March. Every BSW student is encouraged to be involved in the Association in order to make a positive difference
The association meets once or twice a month. Officers are elected in December and fundraising activities are ongoing. We have established a group e-mail listserv to enable students to be in contact with one another as well as have access to current program information
