Elementary/middle school Teacher Education Program

If you have already earned a bachelor’s degree, UFV’s 10-month, post-degree elementary/middle school Teacher Education Program (TEP) can open the door for you to teach elementary or middle school around the Fraser Valley or elsewhere.

Each year, 32 applicants are selected to start the program in September on the Abbotsford campus. This 55-credit program gives you a solid grounding in methods, planning and assessment to prepare you for your field placements and future career in an elementary of middle school.

The total tuition fee for the program is $9,800, which is spread over 3 semesters.

In addition to extensive supervision during your training and practica, you receive support as you transition out of the program to find employment.

Upon successful completion of the program, you are recommended to the Ministry of Education to receive a BC Teaching certificate through the Teacher Regulation Branch.

Ready to start the journey to become an elementary or middle school teacher?

Applications for each September intake are accepted from October 1 of the previous year to January 31. Entry to the program is competitive.
