Jeff Meadows recently appeared in the Vancouver Playhouse production of She Stoops to Conquer then went on to appear at the Shaw Festival in Niagara-on the Lake, Ontario (one of Canada’s premiere live theatre venues) for the summer 2000 season. Jeff has been constantly employed in live theatre for the past two years and has a great career ahead of him. At FVC/UCFV Jeff appeared in numerous productions including Much Ado About Nothing (his first), Amigo’s Blue Guitar, and The Merry Wives of Windsor. |

Mary Anne Waterhouse has been steadily working her way up the Vancouver film industry ladder. She is now a production manager on major film shoots. Her latest is the feature film Snow White presently shooting in Vancouver. Mary Anne achieved a perfect grade point average at FVC winning the Governor General’s medal in 1986. Lee Britton is a professional lighting designer and stage manager based in Victoria. Lee works with all the big acts that visit Victoria as well as traveling on occasion with groups like Farmer’s Daughter and The Nylons. In 1999 Lee returned to UCFV to design the lights for Richard 111. At UCFV Lee stage managed several shows including Garrison’s Garage. He also appeared on stage in Translations. |

Ken Hildebrandt is artistic director of Gallery Seven, the Abbotsford-based theatre company which presents a season of plays at the Eben Ezer Mennonite Church. Ken has guided the development of the company including the creation of a 140-seat theatre as well as a program of youth and community workshops. Designing for Ken in this year’s season is Lori Rippin, who designed last season’s Comedy of Errors at UCFV. |

Several of our graduates have become secondary school drama teachers, introducing a new generation to the joys of live theatre. They include Mike O’Donnell in Abbotsford, Gordon Hamilton in Langley, Scott Tremblay and Kevin Epp in the Okanagan. |

A number of graduates regularly work in live professional theatre productions as well as appearances on film and TV. Jamie Tait (mother is UCFV’s Sandy Tait) had recently appeared in a cross-Canada tour in the production of ICE--Beyond Cool. She also appeared at this year’s Vancouver Fringe Festival.
Paula Antil (mother is UCFV’s Jane Antil) appeared in a Canada touring production which played this year’s Fringe Festival. Erin Wells (mother is UCFV’s Lynne Wells) recently appeared on tour in a Green Thumb provincial touring production as well as in two of her own written shows at the Vancouver Fringe. Blair Keyzer played in the outstanding Playhouse production of The Overcoat which recently toured Canada to much acclaim. | |

Todd Ingram works both on stage and backstage in productions most recently at the Vancouver East Cultural Centre with Problem Child. Both Gin Juanacotina and Nicoleigh Barnet work as stage managers in Vancouver professional theatre productions. Ron Heal is assisting with Vancouver stage productions. In Edmonton, Warren Pullen is a professional lighting designer. Andrew Smith has made several appearances at the Vancouver Fringe and at Presentation House. Dena Ashbaugh is very active in the Vancouver Film and TV Industry. She has appeared in nationally aired commercials for Telus. Sharon Wallace is now working for a Vancouver based talent agency. Nette Plant recently graduated from Studio 58. She presented a splendid one-person show about Pauline Johnson at the Directors’ Festival 2000. |

On the Prairies Eleanor Spooner tours with her husband Eric Glynn-Jones in a duo act called Mr. Jones and Me. They are based in Saskatoon. In Toronto, Richard Peters is director of Artists Development at Brownstone Performing Arts. He also appears in their productions including the Dora Award-winning The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Also in Toronto is Kathleen Parsons who last year won the President’s Award at York University for her play Safe and Sound. Kathleen and her husband Bob annually support the Directors’ Festival. Closer to home we have our very first graduate Sandy Tait working for UCFV now in the Aboriginal Centre as well as working on film projects and directing at the Harrison Festival. Jim and Jean Servizi have been very active in the Chilliwack community directing, acting and presenting workshops. What about the big success graduate and staff member Rick Mawson has made with his play Caliban House Sitter at the Vancouver Fringe? |

BA grad Heather Robertson now manages the Wardrobe department for UCFV Theatre as well as making a significant contribution to the ongoing success of the Harrison Festival of the Arts. Production manager Jody Cameron is a former student and what a contribution she makes to the success of UCFV productions. Former student Jim Wenting is also a Theatre department staff member as well as a professional lighting designer and film industry technician. Both Alia McKellar and Elizabeth Vidito are involved in community theatre in Chilliwack. Lorraine Lanteigne has returned to the Fraser Valley to complete her Bachelor of Arts degree. Lorraine spent the last several years in Central America. Kevin Jones works for the Harrison Festival of the Arts. He will stage manage Medicine to be presented at Harrison in March 2001. And finally, this year for the very first time, one of our graduates has become an RCMP officer! Constable Casey Baker (stage manager for both The Crucible and Richard 111) will begin his active duty in North Vancouver this fall. |
