UNIVERSITY OF THE FRASER VALLEY THEATRE DEPARTMENT
STUDIO TECHNICAL INFORMATION There is a Stage Manager, Lighting Operator and Sound Operator designated for the STUDIO. If you want to run your own lights or sound, please let us know as soon as possible.
The hallway that runs parallel to the STUDIO is the only access for the audience. Please note that use of this hallway is restricted to CURRENT users of the STUDIO ONLY. To access the Front of House from backstage, participants will need to exit through the ‘Green Room’ door and travel outside to the ‘Side Entrance’ of the lobby. This is to avoid undue noise that may carry into the THEATRE or STUDIO. Please pass on this information to all your participants.
There is no backstage space in the STUDIO. There is a room opposite that we have designated for the use of storing furniture and props etc. This space is @ 4’ x 4’ x 9’ high. There will also be a costume rack and table in the hall outside the ‘backstage entrance’ for placing props etc.
We have two dressing rooms designated as Male and Female for your use. These will be shared spaces with the rest of the Festival Participants so please let us know if you have any special requirements. This space is shared by all the Festival Participants. It has a fully equipped kitchen which may be used to prepare food for performance purposes. Food will be available at the concessions during the run of the Festival for a minimal charge.
We have booked a room elsewhere on campus for your use as a warm up room prior to your performance.
