| THEATRE DEPARTMENT | | RICK MAWSON | | Rick has been involved with the department since 1980, when he was a student in the first acting class offered at Fraser Valley College. | |  | | Since then, he has appeared in major roles in numerous department productions, including God in The Mysteries, Lear in King Lear and most recently Geoffrey Chaucer in The Canterbury Tales. Rick holds a BA in English and Theatre from this august institution. In 1984 Rick was employed as a publicist and box office manager for the department. He occasionally moonlights as faculty, when directing department productions. Rick’s directing credits include: The Lover, The Rez Sisters, Anne of Green Gables, The Herbal Bed, Better Living, The Melville Boys and Halo. Rick is also a freelance writer and his work has appeared in Vancouver and national publications. His play Caliban: House-Sitter played to sold out houses at the 2000 Vancouver Fringe Festival. Rick directed his adaptation of the Penelope poems of Canadian Poet Vicki Grieve, Penelope Couldn’t Have Phone Sex, for the 2006 Directors' Theatre Festival.
