Visual Arts Alumni —

Alumni - where are you now? Stay in touch as we would love to hear what you are doing, and where your life has taken you since UFV.

Alumni Profile: Janelle Fitz
"My name is Janelle Fitz, and I am a visual artist and graphic designer located in the Fraser Valley.  I graduated from UFV in 2014, where I obtained my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Within this program, I completed a double extended minor in visual art and graphic design:
I am grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of the arts community at UFV. It was a pleasure to learn so much from my professors and fellow classmates, and build relationships with like-minded people.  During my years of study, I was exposed to many new experiences and ideas, and was often challenged and pushed out of my comfort zone.  As a result, I grew as a person, and was able to further develop and expand my skill set.  Ultimately, the experience of obtaining my fine arts degree at UFV has prepared me to pursue and succeed in post-grad opportunities."‌

The 2013 Alumni Commemorative Wine label artist is chosen - Anne Franklin '12
The Visual Arts is proud to announce that BFA Grad, Anne Franklin (2012) has been selected as the Alumni Commemorative Wine label selection for 2013. Anne's work, as described on her website
"Vivid colours and flowing forms illustrate the beauty of the Pacific Northwest and the artist's personal ties to the land and sea. These works are a powerful yet intimate expression of the peace found in the wilderness, the sense of belonging to a place, and the concept of home."

Congratulations to the 2012 Alumni Commemorative Wine label artist - Hayley Smith '11.
For 2012, the UFV Alumni Association has selected Haley Smith as the Alumni Commemorative Wine label artist. Haley graduated with her Bachelor of Fine Arts from UFV in 2011. Her work exhibits a variety of stories and experiences, enticing the viewer into bright colours and the movement of action. In creating her art, Haley enjoys focusing on painting as one of her greatest relaxation methods. She has won numerous awards for her graphic design work, most notably the Coup d'État Theatre at the 2011 Fraser Valley Zone Festival.

The Alumni Association annouces the 2011 Alumni Commemorative Wine artist - Tara Lynn Kozma Perrin '08.
Tara Lynn Kozma Perrin, 2008 BFA graduate, has been selected by the UFV Alumni Association as the Commemorative Wine label artist for 2011. She is a contemporary First Nations artist, whose work consists of installations that deal with how the viewer interacts with artwork; however, painting will always remain one of her passions. The emphasis of light and its surroundings and the shadows it creates is something you can point out in many of her works. In the end, she hopes that the viewer has the opportunity to walk away with an experience, whether it is positive or negative. To view Tara Lynn's label, visit the Alumni webpage
