FACULTY SHOW: WORK IN PROGRESS

‌Feb 28 - Mar 13

Opening Reception: Thursday February 28, 4-6pm
Panel Discussion: Thursday March 7, 2-4pm

The 2013 UFV Visual Arts Faculty Exhibition, Work in Progress, will highlight the development of artists over time. Each participating faculty member will exhibit an artwork from their undergraduate school days, as well as a more recent work. Life-long preoccupations may be revealed, progressions in form or content, or perhaps we may see drastic divergences in the artists' oeuvres. With its installation within an art school, this exhibition proposes that artists, whether students or instructors, are always 'works in progress.'

Please join us for food and drink at the Opening Reception on Thursday, February 28, from 4 - 6 pm in the Gallery (B136).

Please also join us for a Panel Discussion on Thursday, March 7th, from 2 - 4pm in the Painting and Drawing Studio (C1043). Three faculty artists - Bradley Borthwick, Sarah Ciurysek, and Shelley Stefan will each present brief overviews of their artistic careers, and then there will be a panel discussion on artists' development and education, which will be followed by a Q + A. The panel will be moderated by Jill Bain, UFV Art History Faculty member. Refreshments will be available.

All events are free and open to everyone. Come learn about your resident faculty artists!
