The BC Adult Graduation Diploma (Adult Dogwood)

Did you know that adults who did not graduate from secondary school as teenagers can graduate with the BC Adult Graduation Diploma (Adult Dogwood)? The Adult Dogwood is issued by the Government of British Columbia, and can be earned through the UUP department. Who is eligible for the BC Adult Graduation diploma?

To be eligible for the Adult Dogwood, students must be 18 years or older.

What courses can be used towards the diploma?

Any course that is authorized by either the Ministry of Advanced Education or the Ministry of Education as a requirement for graduation may be used towards the Adult Dogwood.

How many courses are required?

To be eligible for the Adult Dogwood, a student must complete three courses after enrolling in an adult program. Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) may be used to meet any of the requirements for the Adult Dogwood. 

What are the BC Adult Graduation Diploma requirements?

or

advanced Social Sciences and two Provincial Level or higher

Note: Courses higher than the provincial level used to meet the Adult Dogwood diploma requirements may or may not be accepted for university transfer. Students should check with the institution and program for which they are applying to find out about transferability of courses.

How to apply for the BC Adult Graduation Diploma

To apply for your BC Adult Graduation diploma, pick up the green Graduation application form at Admissions and Records, University of the Fraser Valley, and attach your transcript showing your completed courses. Take it in or mail it to UFV, Admissions and Records.
