Accessible to all Visual Arts students, staff and faculty, the Visual Arts Resource Room is your source for referencing historical art, artist retrospectives, and exhibition catalogues. Visual art and art history journals, how-to manuals, and other valuable print texts are available for loan.
The Visual Resources Room is also home to the department's physical slide collection. The collection consists of over 10,000 slides taken of historical and contemporary works of art, architecture, fashion, and design. They are intended for educational purposes only and cannot be published or used commercially. These slides are also accessible to students for projects and presentations.

The Universities Art Association of Canada provides a national voice for its membership, composed of university and college faculty, independent scholars, and other art professionals in the fields of art, art history and visual culture. The UAAC Conference is organised annually.
The College Art Association (located in New York) supports all practitioners and interpreters of visual art and culture, including artists and scholars, who join together to cultivate the ongoing understanding of art as a fundamental form of human expression.
The Association of Art Historians (located in the UK) supports and promotes the study of art history. AAH is the national organisation for professional and independent art and design historians, researchers and students involved in education, museums and galleries, and freelance work. The AAH stages an international conference each year in the United Kingdom.
