Each team had 24 hours to propose how to make food systems on campus more sustainable and then present their ideas to a panel of judges. The winning teams competed in the national competition in Ontario in December and the winners of that competition presented their ideas in Switzerland in February 2016.

The first proposal provided a plan to integrate sustainable food systems into every aspect of the university including education, agricultural production, and nutrient management.
