Zhi Li is a sessional instructor in the program of Adult Education. He received his PhD degree in Applied Linguistics and Technology from Iowa State University, USA and a master's degree in Applied Linguistics from Hunan University, China. In addition, Zhi Li has extensive training in research methodology and statistics. Zhi Li's research interests include language assessment, second language acquisition, technology-enhanced language learning, corpus linguistics, and systemic functional linguistics. His research projects have been presented a number of professional conferences and some are published in peer-reviewed journals.
Before his study at Iowa State University, Zhi Li worked as a full-time lecturer in the College of Foreign Languages at Hunan University of Arts and Science, China. He also taught English as second language (ESL) courses at Iowa State University. Currently, Zhi Li works as language assessment specialist at a language testing organization in Vancouver, BC. With rich experiences in teaching at universities and working in industry, Zhi Li is excited to share his insights and stories about language learning and assessment in classrooms.
Zhi Li lives in Langley, BC and enjoys fishing.
