Parents and Families
Students entering post-secondary are required to navigate through large amounts of information. As a parent or family member, we welcome you to UFV and look forward to working with you to assist your student from the application process through to graduation.
The transitions that students may face when entering post-secondary include longer classes, higher expectations, more work, more courses to choose from and choosing educational and career goals. The following information can help you in assisting your student:

Explore Educational and Career options
Many students do not know what their academic goal is and once decided, many change their minds. It's all a part of the discovering process, exploring new courses, new ideas and seeing a larger picture of what's available to them. Advisors and counsellors work together to help students arrive at a career / academic goal and help them plan their academic path.
Our Counsellors help students explore career goals and our Educational Advisors help them plan and stay on track towards achieving their goals.
