UFV-Vancouver Film School (VFS) Degree Pathway Program
What is the UFV-VFS Degree Pathway Program?
University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) and Vancouver Film School (VFS) have partnered to create the UFV-VFS Degree Pathway Program, which is a cross-institutional agreement that enables Vancouver Film School diploma graduates entry into UFV’s Bachelor of Media Arts (BMA), Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA), Bachelor of Arts (BA), or Bachelor of General Studies (BGS). (Approximately, 60 credits from Vancouver Film School can be used toward a UFV degree.)
Vancouver Film School graduates have various options for pursing a degree at UFV.
Why Should I Take the UFV-VFS Degree Pathway Program?
Build on the knowledge you’ve gained at VFS and prepare the skills necessary to advance and fast-track your professional career through the UFV-VFS Degree Pathway Program. In as little as three years (when studying full-time), you will enter the workforce with two applicable credentials, a VFS Diploma and a UFV degree.
“This partnership between UFV and VFS offers increased learning opportunities and pathways for students. VFS graduates possess a significant skill set, knowledge base, and applied experience in entertainment and creative media. Further study at UFV provides the opportunity to develop new skills and increase the breadth of their knowledge, all while working towards degree completion.”
- Dr. Alisa Webb, Associate Dean of Arts
“I arrived to VFS with a low level of experience and have been working hard as an artist, in and out of school. But I am realizing that I need more training and time to improve myself in order to be ready to enter the workforce. I think UFV will boost my future potential; a new set of professors with different perspectives means fresh eyes helping me find new areas of growth.”
- Adrian Cardenas Ramirez, current VFS student
Who is Eligible?
VFS Alumni who graduated in 2016 or later are eligible. Those who graduated prior to 2016 will be assessed by UFV on an individual basis as they fall outside of the parameters of the agreement.
If you graduated from VFS prior to 2016, please familiarize yourself with the transfer process at UFV.
