Mathematics and Statistics Mathematics major
This section specifies the mathematics major discipline requirements only. Information on additional Bachelor of Arts requirements begins in this section. Lower-level requirements: 27–28 credits
Note 1: Students who have successfully completed MATH 125 prior to January 2005 may use MATH 125 in place of MATH 225. Note 2: Students who have successfully completed MATH 214 prior to January 2006 may use MATH 214 in place of MATH 265. Note 3: Students who have successfully completed COMP 150 prior to September 2006 may use COMP 150 in place of COMP 152. Upper-level requirements: 30 credits 30 upper-level credits of mathematics courses labeled above MATH 302. Effective January 2007, students will be required to complete MATH 340 as part of the thirty upper-level credits. At least nine of these upper-level credits must be 400-level (excluding Directed Studies or Job Practicum). Students may use PHYS 381 as part of the thirty upper-level credits; however, PHYS 381 cannot be used to satisfy requirements of a math program as well as requirements of a physics program.
