The Department of Adult Education and the Faculty of Professional Studies invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position with a combined focus on Adult Education and Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL)/Second Language Education (SLE).

To embody these values, we offer a range of undergraduate and graduate degree and certificate programs and elective courses in Adult Education, TESL/SLE, and Mindfulness-Based Teaching and Learning (MBTL) with unique policies and the use of Blackboard and Collaborate Ultra for online and face-to-face delivery.
The successful candidate is expected to teach courses in core areas of both Adult Education and TESL/SLE, which could include adult learning, instructional design, diversity studies, workplace education and second-language acquisition, TESL/SLE teaching methods, curriculum and assessment, and practicum supervision. In addition to teaching in the BA-ADED, TESL/SLE and Workplace Education certificate programs, the successful candidate will supervise and mentor a range of students in Independent Studies and practicum experiences in both ADED and TESL/SLE programs; foster awareness of diversity, Indigenous, and internationalization issues among university and community members; assess student PLAR applications; and contribute to the department, university, and local communities served by the university.
As a predominantly undergraduate institution, UFV encourages faculty members to maintain an active research and scholarship program oriented on maintaining and improving undergraduate education and/or the social and economic development of the Fraser Valley. Faculty members integrate research with undergraduate teaching, contributing to the scholarship of teaching and learning. As a faculty member, you will be expected to participate in an on-going process of professional development and to lead others to do so in your teaching and collegial service.
