The Department of Psychology at UFV invites applications for a full-time, permanent appointment to begin in August 2018.  The department is seeking applicants who can teach and develop courses in the area of Clinical Psychology.

A PhD in Clinical Psychology from a recognized clinical program is required; ABD will be considered if the degree will be obtained within one year of being appointed to the position. An ability to teach Counselling Psychology as well is preferred. Applicants should be registered, or be willing to become registered, and registration within the probationary period is required for continuance in the position. Teaching a variety of courses, other than Clinical courses, will also be expected.

A record of successful scholarship, as well as experience working with diverse student and community populations, are essential. Evidence of excellence in teaching is a requirement of the position, and experience and interest in mentoring and supervising undergraduate students are assets.

The successful candidate will also be expected to engage in university and department committee work, as well as in community outreach. UFV’s strategic enrolment management plan has identified “Health and Wellness” as one of the priority growth areas, and opportunities to participate in cross-faculty discussions in this area will be available. Interest and experience in community-based research are assets. It is expected that all faculty members shall engage in an on-going process of professional development.
