Posting details

The Financial Aid and Awards Clerk assists students in completing application forms for programs administered by the UFV Financial Aid and Awards department, responds to counter, telephone and email enquiries regarding different funding sources, and provides appropriate information to students seeking financial assistance. The person in this position prepares government student loan documents for disbursement and screens criteria eligibility for student enrolment to comply with government regulations upon disbursal of funding.  The Clerk assists with updating the Financial Aid and Awards website and maintains accurate online information for UFV scholarships and bursaries, as well as assists with the preparation for Awards Adjudication. The person in this role will perform other duties related to Financial Aid and Awards as requested.


Successful completion of a one year certificate in office administration from a recognized post-secondary institution.  Minimum two (2) years of office administration experience, with at least six months of Student Services/Financial Aid and Awards experience. Knowledge and/or aptitude for interpreting and understanding complex policies and guidelines. Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills with a student centered approach that is sensitive to the needs of a diverse student population. Demonstrated ability to work in a busy office environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy. Superior time management and organizational skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Experience with financial aid databases and student record systems; Banner preferred.
