The Chemistry Department invites applicants for a one-year Limited Term Faculty appointment. The successful applicant will be expected to teach a total of seven (7) sections, including CHEM 110 Introductory Chemistry; CHEM 113 Principles of Chemistry I; CHEM 114 Principles of Chemistry II; CHEM 213 Organic Chemistry I; CHEM 214 Organic Chemistry II; CHEM 311 Intermediate Organic Chemistry I; CHEM 412 Topics in Organic Chemistry.
Duties of Limited Term faculty fall within Article 18.2 (Teaching Faculty Duties) of the Collective Agreement, specifically the Teaching and Service components.
The successful applicant must have a PhD from a recognized/accredited post-secondary institution in chemistry or a closely related field. Applicants should have an outstanding ability to teach and communicate with undergraduate students, and must be able to instruct a diverse student population (with varying backgrounds) across a broad range of the undergraduate Chemistry curriculum. The successful candidate will also be expected to partake in some form of service to the department and/or university.
Preference will be given to applicants who have experience teaching at UFV, particularly in the area of organic chemistry.
