Located in the heart of BC’s Fraser Valley, UFV offers a wide range of undergraduate and professional degrees, a collegial environment and a commitment to developing graduate programs.

The Computer Information Systems department invites applicants for three (3) one-year Limited Term faculty appointments.  The successful applicant will be expected to teach a total of six (6) sections, with expertise in software development.  Preference will be given to candidate who have a demonstrated interest and expertise in at least one of the following areas:  distributed programming, programming for mobile devices, cloud computing, gaming, multimedia and graphics, artificial intelligence, robotics, simulation and modelling, operating systems and real-time and systems programming.  Other related expertise will be considered.

We are seeking individuals who have an outstanding ability to teach and communicate effectively with undergraduate students, and are able to instruct and develop courses across a range of computer information systems and computing science courses.

Duties of Limited Term faculty fall within Article 18.2 (Teaching Faculty Duties) of the Collective Agreement, specifically the Teaching and Service components.

Qualifications

The successful applicant must have a PhD in Computing Science or a closely related area from a recognized university, and demonstrated excellence, or commitment to establish a record of excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level.  Flexibility, industry experience, currency in topic areas, and evidence of scholarly activities are also important considerations.
