Posting details

The College of Arts invites applications from Type B faculty and post-probation Sessional faculty to deliver the ARTS and BGS Portfolio courses (ARTS 101, ARTS 201, ARTS 301, ARTS 401, PORT 398 and PORT 399).   Actual course availability and the number of instructors required will vary by semester.

Successful ARTS applications must be Type B faculty or post-probation Sessional faculty from the College of Arts.  Successful PORT applicants must also be Type B faculty or post-probation Sessional faculty, but can come from any UFV Faculty.  Hiring preference will be given to Type B faculty.

All applicants must be familiar with and committed to developing expertise in:

  • Portfolios as learning and assessment tools;
  • The use of UFV’s Blackboard e-portfolio;
  • The role that the e-portfolio courses play in the learning outcomes of the Bachelor of Arts degree and/ or the Bachelor of General Studies degree;
  • Principles of integrative learning and reflection; and
  • The use of rubrics for assessment.

All successful applicants must undertake UFV-provided professional development around e-portfolio learning, instruction and assessment.
