With over 100 programs, from graduate and undergraduate arts, science, and professional degrees, to trades and technical education, university preparation, and continuing education UFV is the school of choice for over 15,000 students.
Located within the Faculty of Professional Studies, the School of Business has some fifteen hundred students enrolled in certificate, diploma, and degree programs. The successful candidate will actively participate in the development and delivery of those programs and engage in academic service activities.
The School of Business invites applicants for a one-year Limited Term Faculty appointment in marketing. The successful applicant will be expected to teach a total of seven (7) sections, including mostly lower-level courses in marketing, with a particular focus on an introduction to marketing and professional selling.
There is an expectation that the successful candidate will engage in university and community service, and the promotion of programs offered by the school. The service requirement is to organize and partake in new student related activities such as the school’s annual welcome (back) BBQ, new student orientation, and to organize and partake in two alumni events.
Duties of Limited Term faculty fall within Article 18.2 (Teaching Faculty Duties) of the Collective Agreement, specifically the Teaching and Service components.
Applicants must have demonstrated proficiency as an instructor and must have a PhD or DBA in a relevant discipline, or must be near completion (ABD). Applicants with a relevant Master’s degree might be considered if they possess a minimum of five years relevant and recent industry experience.
Applications must include a letter of application (including a statement of eligibility to work in Canada), curriculum vitae, three letters of reference, a one-page statement of teaching philosophy and recent teaching evaluations. Applicants are encouraged to also submit a sample of research/scholarly work. Incomplete applications may not be processed.
The Selection Advisory Committee will begin reviewing applications on March 29, 2018; however, the position will remain open until filled.
