Under the general direction of the permanent Modern Languages (German) faculty and the Department Head of Modern Languages, the Language Seminar Assistant is responsible for providing language tutorials for students. Responsibilities include developing materials and conversation exercises; assisting students with problems in pronunciation, sentence structure and conversation techniques; reviewing assigned lesson plans and preparing for scheduled class periods; giving oral exams and assisting instructors in establishing final marks.
Diploma is required. Minimum two (2) years’ work experience in the language in activities such as teaching, journalism, script writing, etc. Must be able to speak and write fluent German. A thorough knowledge of German culture is essential.
