Information Technology Services requires Auxiliary, Information Technology Support Staff. This position will provide support to the Information Technology Services Department. Opportunities include entry-level support in areas of Networking, Programming, Audio/Visual, IT Service Desk and Support Analyst positions. This role will act as the primary contact for users with IT issues or enquiries, and will provide first level technical support. Service desk duties include receiving, recording, assigning and reporting on help desk service requests received by telephone, email, and other help desk communications. Other tasks may include technical troubleshooting, deploys software, supports and troubleshoots UFV standard computer hardware and peripherals used by faculty, staff and students. May be required to lift computer equipment, supplies and materials while spending brief periods of time working under desks and in tight spaces.
Completion of a certificate in Computer Information Technology from a recognized post-secondary institution or equivalent post-secondary education is required. Applicants working towards a diploma or degree in Information Technology is considered an asset. Minimum one (1) year of related experience. Successful applicants must have exceptional customer service skills; demonstrated ability to work as part of an integrated team; excellent communication skills; able to provide discretion and confidentiality, competent with varying technologies; able to remain calm while working in a fast-paced environment.
