The School of Criminology and Criminal Justice has approximately 500 program students and offers a BA degree in Criminal Justice, an Honour’s program, and a Master of Arts (Criminal Justice) degree.
The School of Criminology and Criminal Justice requires sessional faculty for the Winter 2021 semester and beyond to teach a variety of courses (face-to-face, hybrid, or online) in criminology and criminal justice, such as introductory criminology courses (CRIM 100, CRIM 103, CRIM 105), academic and professional development (CRIM 129), introductory law courses (CRIM 135, CRIM 230), problem management skills (CRIM 265), and special topics courses. Applicants must possess at minimum a Master of Arts degree, preferably in criminology or criminal justice, or a designation from a related discipline (e.g., JD, LLM). Preferred criteria include experience working in the criminal justice system and previous postsecondary teaching experience. Applicants must be able to demonstrate teaching excellence (or the potential for teaching excellence), as well as proficiency in the subject area(s) of the course(s) for which they wish to be considered. Ability to develop and deliver online programming is required. We are seeking collegial, energetic, and innovative individuals who are able to teach across our curriculum and effectively mentor students. A commitment to an ongoing program of professional development is required.
