UFV Ceremonies and Events Office is responsible for coordinating the University’s ceremonial recognition and formal university-wide events, as well as events on behalf of the President’s Office and other units, in support of the University’s Strategic Plan.
Formal University-Wide Events
Ceremonies and Events is the main office responsible for the Spring Convocation Ceremonies. Held at the Abbotsford Centre, the ceremonies include the conferring of academic and honorary degrees. Read more on (link to Convo site)
The UFV Ceremonies and Events Office coordinates the formal installations of the University’s President and Chancellor.
The President’s Leadership Lectures Series was established in 2011 with the intent to bring to UFV inspirational leaders to share their ideas, challenge us and perhaps even provoke us. If you would like to suggest a speaker series, please contact our office.
National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence against Women
The UFV Remembrance Day ceremony is held annually on December 6 and is attended by over by faculty, staff, students and members of the off-campus community.
The annual awards reception celebrates Teaching and Research Excellence, Staff Excellence, Inspirational Leadership and Exceptional Teamwork.
Annual and special events to recognize members of the community for their support of the university are coordinated in conjunction with The Advancement Office, including the Annual “Town and Gown Fundraising Dinner.”
The Ceremonies and Events Office works closely with various departments on building openings, and program launches.
