Academic Performance Requirements
Students in CIS certificate, diploma or degree programs are required to maintain semester (GPA) and cumulative grade point averages (CGPA) of at least 2.0 (a C average) in order to be awarded the credential. CIS and COMP courses used to satisfy degree requirements in years three and four must be completed with a grade of C or higher in order to be counted for credit towards the degree.
Students who do not maintain the required grade point average will be placed on Academic Warning for one semester. If they do not attain the required GPA, they will be required to withdraw from the program. Students who have been required to withdraw are not normally readmitted to the program.
Students may not normally register for a course more than twice. Permission may be given to register for a course for the third time under extenuating circumstances, but will require a written letter from the student, and permission from the CIS Department Head. No more than five course duplications will be permitted in work used towards any CIS program.
