The office of Research, Engagement, and Graduate Studies continues to foster innovation at UFV during this time. Please consult the office’s COVID-19 updates page to learn how UFV is adapting research activities to safeguard the health of our community. The page includes requirements for faculty PIs (principal investigators), protocols for making changes to a research project through ROMEO, resource links, and more.
There is an immediate need for research that contributes to our knowledge of COVID-19; its impacts on society, the economy, and government; and ways to contain the spread and improve public health response and patient care. We encourage proposals to the Research Supplementary Fund to support COVID-19 related research.

UFV's Human Research Ethics Board (HREB) is currently prioritizing and expediting ethics review of COVID-19 related protocols and projects, as these are considered essential research and above minimal risk given the current global health crisis.
Minimal risk, non-essential research will be reviewed as time permits. Above minimal risk, non-essential research will follow the regular submission deadlines and be reviewed as close to the original HREB meeting date as possible.
Please contact Research.Ethics@ufv.ca with questions.
Researchers who need to make COVID-19 related changes to a current or proposed research project (e.g., ROSA release project, Research Supplementary Fund project) should visit the Research Office’s Covid-19 updates page for instructions.
Student travel grant requests are being reviewed on a case-by-case basis, carefully weighing factors such as location, event/conference information, and mode of travel to ensure students’ safety.
