Funds available for urgent COVID-19 research

There is an immediate need for research that contributes to our knowledge of COVID-19; its impacts on society, the economy, and government; and ways to contain the spread and improve public health response and patient care. We encourage proposals to the Research Supplementary Fund to support COVID-19 related research. Contact with questions.

Research ethics

UFV's Human Research Ethics Board (HREB) is currently prioritizing and expediting ethics review of COVID-19 related protocols and projects, as these are considered essential research and above minimal risk given the current global health crisis.

Minimal risk, non-essential research will be reviewed as time permits. Above minimal risk, non-essential research will follow the regular submission deadlines and be reviewed as close to the original HREB meeting date as possible.

Please contact with questions.

ROSA/Research Supplementary Fund projects

Researchers who need to change any part of their Research Option and Scholarly Activity (ROSA) release project or Research Supplementary Fund (RSF) project due to COVID-19 should complete a "ROSA COVID-19 Changes" form or a "Research Supplementary Fund COVID-19 Changes" form in ROMEO. Contact with questions.

Student travel grants

Due to travel restrictions currently in place, student travel grants are suspended at this time. Students may still apply for funding to present at conferences being held later in the year but are advised not to book travel until restrictions are lifted. Contact with questions.

Nominations are still being accepted for the Undergraduate Research Excellence Awards through Monday, May 11. The Research Office looks forward to awarding the $1,000 prizes to UFV’s top research students. The in-person URE awards dinner has been cancelled. Contact with questions.
