Online class information

Art History

All AH courses, with the exception of AH 401/VA 401 (Senior Seminar I) are asynchronous, which means that there is no set class time. 

AH 401 includes weekly online meetings on Mondays from 1:00-2:00 pm. Attendance of online classes is a course requirement and students should discuss any difficulty they anticipate with attending online classes with the instructor, Aimée Brown, before the semester begins. 

Interdisciplinary Studies IDS 300G: Race, Place, and Space

This course has a weekly synchronous meeting time, on Wednesdays from 10:00-11:20. Attendance of online classes is a course requirement and students should discuss any difficulty they anticipate with attending online classes with the instructors, Michelle La Flamme and Anna Griffith, before the semester begins.

Media Arts

All MEDA courses include synchronous components. 

MEDA 100 and MEDA 401 will each include four synchronous workshops/class meetings. The dates and times for these will be determined through consultation between the instructor and students early in the semester; students will have some input into when these are scheduled, but times will be selected based on the availability of the instructor and members of the class. Attendance of these workshops is a course requirement and students should discuss any difficulty they anticipate with attending online classes with the instructor, William Maher, as soon as they are scheduled. 

MEDA 222, MEDA 260, and MEDA 350 include synchronous online classes at times indicated in the timetable. Attendance of online classes is a course requirement and students should discuss any difficulty they anticipate with attending online classes with their instructor before the semester begins.

Theatre

THEA 101, THEA 111, THEA 121, THEA 203/ENGL 233, and THEA 301 are asynchronous, which means that there is no set class time. 

THEA 112, THEA 211, THEA 314, THEA 352, THEA 401 include synchronous online classes at times indicated in the timetable. Attendance of online classes is a course requirement and students should discuss any difficulty they anticipate with attending online classes with their instructor before the semester begins.

THEA 210, 220 will each include four synchronous workshops/class meetings. The dates and times for these will be determined through consultation between the instructor and students early in the semester; students will have some input into when these are scheduled, but times will be selected based on the availability of the instructor and members of the class. Attendance of these workshops is a course requirement and students should discuss any difficulty they anticipate with attending online classes with their instructor as soon as they are scheduled.

Practicums (THEA 290, THEA 291, THEA 295, THEA 299, THEA 399, THEA 499)

The full production schedule will be posted on TeamUp by August 1, 2020; please contact Leigh (leigh.kerr@ufv.ca) for access). Rehearsals will be Mondays from 2:30-5:20, Tuesdays from 5:30-8:30, Fridays from 5:30-8:30, and Saturdays from 10:00-3:00. Production classes will meet on Tuesdays and Fridays, from 1:00-5:20. As in a “normal” semester, students will also be required outside of these times for meetings, technical calls, dress rehearsals, and performances.

Visual Arts

VA 101, VA 113, VA 115, VA 116, VA 180, VA 221, VA 222, VA 223, VA 271, VA 280, and VA 321 are asynchronous, which means that there is no set class time.

VA 160, VA 251, VA 331, VA 401 include synchronous online classes at times indicated in the timetable. Attendance of online classes is a course requirement and students should discuss any difficulty they anticipate with attending online classes with their instructor before the semester begins.

VA 402 will each include some synchronous class meetings. The dates and times for these will be determined through consultation between the instructor and students early in the semester; students will have some input into when these are scheduled, but times will be selected based on the availability of the instructor and members of the class. Attendance of these workshops is a course requirement and students should discuss any difficulty they anticipate with attending online classes with their instructor, Candace Couse, as soon as they are scheduled.
