Students who apply to ELS programs need to take an assessment to measure English language skills before registering for classes. Completing the assessment will help place you in courses that meet your skill level.
The assessment is free and takes about two hours to complete.
Call or visit the ELS department to arrange a time to do the assessment.
Register for classes
After you complete the application and assessment process, you will be assigned a registration time. Pick up a timetable from the ELS Office.
My ESL class was the first time for me to make friends in a new country. I got the chance to practice my English and learn new skills. UFV will be an unforgettable part of my life.

I moved to Abbotsford without any English at all. I became an ESL student at UFV and learned English from the basic level to the academic level. Academic courses gave me the opportunity to work toward my goals.
