The Faculty of Science encompasses four departments.
Biology - Our program prepares students for professions in biology and for graduate and professional schools. In addition, we offer pre-college biology for upgrading students, and first year non-major courses, primarily for Arts and Education students.
Chemistry - UFV chemistry graduates have gone on to enjoy rewarding careers in many areas including employment with hi-tech industries, in the biotechnology sector and government laboratories, or as chemistry teachers at the secondary-school level
Mathematics and Statistics - We represent many special fields but are unified in our commitment to providing support and excellent, student-oriented instruction as well opportunities for undergrad research, including work study (paid) research.
Physics - The importance of physics in all of our lives cannot be over stressed. One thousand years from now, when one is asked to list the most important events of the 20th century, the discoveries of physics will top the list. Engineering is part of our Physics Department. It is an applied science, and UFV currently offers two programs which allows students to enter this fascinating and important field.
