Irving K. Barber International Scholarships
The Irving K. Barber International Scholarships have been created by the Province of British Columbia and the Irving K. Barber British Columbia Scholarship Society. These scholarships are helping BC build a globally literate population and workforce that will further enhance the province's success in the world economy.
ONE WORLD SCHOLARSHIP: Scholarships of $1,000 - $3,000 each are available. The scholarships are available to students enrolled in a program of at least one year in length, leading to a credential offered by a BC public post-secondary institution. An eligible study/work abroad program is an activity that is either a formal part of the student's credential program at his/her home institution or that carries academic credit recognized by the student's home institution. Programs must be at least three weeks in length, and no longer than one year. Contact UFV's International Education Department for more details.
PREMIER'S ONE WORLD SCHOLARSHIPS: One scholarship valued at $20,000 is available for a B.C. public post-secondary student wishing to pursue post-secondary education outside of Canada or the United States. Public post-secondary institutions will be asked to nominate a deserving candidate or candidates for both the Premier's One World Scholarship and the One World International Scholarships for Study in BC. These programs will be adjudicated centrally by an adjudication committee including representatives from both the Student Financial Assistance and International Education offices of the institutions.
