GUS is the oldest Geography student organization at UFV. It meets regularly to organize student and student-faculty events, ranging from paintball and bowling nights, to academic support events. GUS provides a valuable networking opportunity for current, past, and future students, in and outside of Geography. More information on upcoming GUS events is posted in on a dedicated board outside A413, in the Student Lab (A407a), and on the GUS Facebook page.
Established in 2014, the UFV Urbanists is a student group focusing on urban and planning issues. They organize and host speaking events and fora, and they meet regularly to plan new activities and engage in community dialogues around urban development. The Urbanists are open to students, past, present, and future, from any program. More information can be found on their Twitter feed @UFVUrbanists and their Facebook page.
SFS meets to plan sustainability initatives on campus and in the community. They usually work closely with the UFV Sustainability Intern, who is based in Facilities. Students interested in environmental initiatives can contact SFS or the UFV greenTeam members for more information.
